A lot of the time in lolita, people focus too much on what print they’re wearing. What some girls neglect are the little things that help make an outfit more unique. The right pair of shoes, some key accessories, and a good bag all go a long way in lolita, but a lot of girls forget this. :(

I’ve heard that some girls actually advise new lolitas to avoid using black and white combinations, and I never understood why. Some say it’s because it makes them look like n00bs/newbies. I’ve always found this combination quite classy, and it looks good on most people, too.

ALL ABOUT SHOES!
When I was starting out with lolita, I didn’t have srs bznz lolita shoes. Unless you’re absolutely certain that you’re in love with the fashion, it’s pretty impractical to buy chunky platform maryjanes that you may never wear again.
This video is full of derpy, unsolicited advice because I tend to do that. I talk about some of the more practical footwear options for lolitas who are starting out, or maybe those whose budgets are a little tight. :)

These shoes are liquid chocolate.
And funny enough, I kinda want them. It’s a shame that a) it looks a little awkward to me, b) I like the brown Tea Party replica-looking ones, and c) I don’t really have anything to wear them with.
Potential purchase? Maybe, maybe not. They’re still pretty. <3

So, the other day, I decided to wear lolita again. Gotta admit, it’s been a while. I missed all my frills and poof. I got dressed up during one of my breaks, and dragged my good friend Doro to take some shots of me in that day’s coord.
See, when you leave me and Doro together, everything just turns to derp. I decided to keep most of the derp photos to myself, since hurrdurr, they look horrible. This is the most presentable of the derp shots:
I wore the lovely pink classic-inspired Bodyline OP that I got from Caz, and the pink patchwork bow from Dolldelight. :)
Doro and I did get some presentable shots, though.
Doro was determined to fit the bow into the frame, and this is what we ended up with. XD
What derpyloli shoot of mine would be complete without at least one “mo-e” shot?
We also managed to get a demure-looking shot, which is rare, in my opinion. I actually look like a quiet person in this photo. D8
And this is what Doro calls my “abandoned kitty” look. Pouty loli.
This mini-shoot’s set has something pretty special though. There’s a mega-ultra-super-duper-ridiculously-rare shot of me smiling with my teeth showing. XD
It’s more of an outtake, really, but I decided to include it here. This is one of the rare times that I like candid photos of myself. :P

I think they’re ridiculously pretty, okay. These shoes will go with like half my lolita wardrobe (maybe more!), so I’m super happy I have them. :3
Derpy details photos, heehee. I think I’ll take better shots of them later on. Love, love, love these shoes. I’m tempted to get all the other colors too, but I’m gonna stick with this pair (and the blue one) for now. Cute shoes are cute. :)
I adore Bodyline shoes, or at least the ones that I think look good. These shoes are a welcome change, since my shoes are usually either flats (not always comfy) or 4 to 5 inch stilettos (which are asdfghjkl painful after a few hours). I’ve been wanting shoes in this style since last December, when I first laid eyes on a white pair - in real life - which I plan to get eventually.
… I realized just now how derpy these photos look, since they’re all technically upside down. D8
